I always try to write a review when I purchase an item that doesn't have any reviews yet. I sat in a similarly constructed chair (not an XL model though) at a local garden center and thought it was comfortable enough but I just couldn't justify the expense for something I knew I wouldn't use very often.
5 weeks later I am recovering from an accident that left with me with broken ribs and unable to breathe if I lay flat. I was looking for a CHEAP recliner and was going to buy the one I saw locally but it turned out to be a bit more narrow than I remembered. Amazon had this oversize model available at a decent price so I decided to roll the dice and oh my gosh it is GREAT. It feels a lot sturdier than the model I tried at the store and it is obviously longer and wider which is lovely for my needs. It is a perfect "hospital bed" for me at 5'7" and I'm sure I will continue to use it once I heal because it is just so comfortable.
